We are super excited to see everyone next week in Berlin and online!
These Release Notes are mostly about of what to expect. A User Manual, if you will:The great news: we have planned the conference for about 500 people and we end up being 600+!
To accommodate this we have changed the rooms, but not the venue:
Track 1 will remain at the Festsaal,
Track 2 will be at the Trödelhalle.
This is also where the Contributors Summit will take place.
Additional areas you can always access are:the Biergarten for the outdoors chillout area where Track 1 is live streamed,
the Kaminzimmer for the sponsors area,
and the Quiet Room (follow the signs or ask the staff for help).
Next to the Registration Desk is the Cloackroom, active throughout the conference days. You can arrive with your suitcase to any conference day and check it in. The storage area is open and visible, but can only be accessed by the staff.
The bar is located at the Kaminzimmer and is always open for soft drinks and coffee (including ice coffee), and in addition there are 2 coffee stations: one next to the bar and one at the Trödelhalle.
The food at the conference is vegan, and the specifically requested dietary requirements are separately organized, please contact us if you requested it in the registration form.
On the Workshops Day there will be a Korean food truck by Fräulein Kimchi
On the Talks Days there will be a selection of:
Korean food truck by Fräulein Kimchi
Cameroonian food track by Papa Africa
Hummus food stand by Dr. Hummus
This is in addition to the breakfast and coffee break snacks. Throughout the day there will be fresh fruits.
This year we have 2 types of swag:
Generally available swag, which you can find next to the registration desk.
Limited edition items, which you can get if you win at the swag hunt. There will be 4 chances to win your swag bundle, one per day per stage. The MCs will share the exact instructions between the talks, we won’t tell you which!
To get your badge just show your QR code. We kept it minimal to encourage everyone to avoid printing, if possible. Follow the signs - the registration queues are split by the last name. We recommend stopping by on Monday afternoon or Tuesday to grab your badge, even if you don’t plan on participating at the activities, to avoid the long queue on Wednesday morning.
On the back of the badge you’ll find the agenda, WiFi and our social media handles. You can also find those on posters in the venue.
Here is an infodoc that we prepared for our attendees. We hope you’ll find it useful, whether you’re a Berliner or not.
If you are are joining us virtually, you already got an email inviting you to register to our virtual event at Hopin.
If you are signed up for a workshop on Tuesday, you got an additional email with information from the workshop instructor, e.g. what should you pre-install. We encourage you to read and follow the instructions prior to the conference week for a smooth workshop experience.
